My Soldier ♥

It finally happened.
I finally got to see my handsome husband & soldier. Finally after 10 weeks of waiting & hardly any communication I got to be in his arms. It was the best feeling in the world when my husband walked out the doors with a huge smile on his face & I ran into his arms.

The next day we got to watch Matt graduate... It was such an amazing experience.

I am so proud to be an Army wife.
Matt is in training until March but luckily he will be home until Christmas! Less than 4 months & he will be home with his family.
Tonight I couldn't wait any longer so I went ahead & got all the Christmas decorations out. Won't be getting a tree until Mr. Mathia gets home for Christmas of course but figured I could go ahead & put everything else up. :) I love Christmas time.
Our bedroom Tree & wreath
Okay, I'm going to finish up my peppermint hot chocolate & go to bed.
Tip- Put a candy cane (one of the small puffy round ones) in the bottom before you pour the water in the mug. Sooooooooo GOOD!

Three Days.

Almost there......
Currently, I am trying to find my favorite outfits, folding them up, & packing them in a suit case... YEP! You guessed it! I am packing to go to see my husband!! After 10 long weeks I will finally be in those buff arms that I've missed so so so so much! I do have a helper...
He really isn't much help at all as you can see. This is his new bed that, as of this weekend, he has just figured out was his bed. Now every time he lays down he's out. Ha ha.
Anyways, back to the trip. So I will be leaving early Tuesday, 12 hour drive. I should arrive early afternoon. Then Wednesday morning, I will finally see him!!! Then on friday I will be a VERY proud wife as I watch my amazing husband graduate from BCT and move on to his job training. That will be about 18 weeks, which I hope goes by extremely fast just like Basic did. Before he starts that training though I will hopefully get a long & peaceful weekend with my husband.
Okay, well I'm going to go change the laundry & fill up my coffee cup!
I'll make sure & keep you updated!

So close I can feel it..

Hey You.
Only 2 weeks left! Only two weeks until I am back in Matt's arms:) We are so close. It actually has went by extremely fast.
When we started this process 8 weeks ago I meant some special ladies who have really got me through this. They also have husbands/sons with Matt. We were all there for each other so I'm also very excited to finally meet them!! Unfortunately, my friend, Malori's husband is still going to be in training then so I won't get to see her... Dang it! But it will be nice to finally meet all the ladies in person!
So here we are now on a 16 day count down!!! :)

Happy Halloween!
Here's Oakley in his costume.
A banana split.

Here we go....

Hello!
So we have only a couple days left together until my husband is taken from me and we are thrown into the Army world. I am hoping I can do this.... I will have about 10 weeks starting Monday that I will not get to see him. I am just happy that I have our puppy, Oakley and my niece Miss. Addy. Hopefully, he will keep me busy so I will not be just bawling my eyes out all the time.
Hurry up November!!!!
Miss. Addy & I.
My handsome husband & Oak.

Update.

Long time no post.

So.... an update. Well my husband leaves for Basic training for the Army in less an a month from now. He will be in Columbus,GA for 10 weeks then almost 20 weeks he will be in Augusta, GA for training. The first 10 weeks I will not get to see nor talk to him other than letters. After that I can talk to him & see him on weekends. However, we have the distance of about 15 hours between us so weekends will be limited. This will definitely be an adventure...

Easter.

As Easter gets closer, I am starting to think about how I want to make this holiday festive. My favorite thing during holidays is to make them special for my husband. One day, when we decide to have a little one then I will make it special for them. This year, I am thinking chocolate covered peeps, Easter egg coloring, & maybe a little Easter egg hunting in our living room.

When I was growing up my favorite things about Easter were coloring eggs and  egg hunting so why not now? Why not keep up the traditions that I used to love with my husband. :) Then maybe all those things will be his favorites too.

Hope you have a Happy Easter.

Let the Planning Begin!

So, as I already mentioned, I am going to be an aunt in late July. My brother & sister in law announced her name last week. Adelynn Marie Roberts. Named after my grandmother and myself with Marie Roberts. :) It is amazing how the little things always mean the most to people. I feel so blessed that my brother & sister decided to pick Marie Roberts.

Anyways.. I have now started the fun planning of the baby showers. Planning is my passion. The first shower will be early June & themed tennis. My brother & sister are in a tennis league so my mother is throwing them a tennis themed shower with all the tennis girls. & of course she asked me to help her with all the little details. From the tennis ball cake to the little personalized initials of our little Addie. :)

Then in late June, I am throwing them a family shower & themed with lavender, dark purple, and light green colors and purple flower designs. The family shower is going to have a southern feel to it to get everyone relax and just have a good time with conversation. After the showers I will post some pictures on how things turn out.

The Count Down Has Started

So the count down has started until we are separated. Until this whole Army thing starts and rips my husband out of my arms and takes him... shaves his head... & places us where ever they want for the next four years. Also, the count down has started for August 19th.... Vacation :) It is our two week long vacation that will be on the East Coast with all of the amazing seafood.. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Yum. One of my past times is researching places. Places that fascinate me... Just like Maine. I am amazed by all the beauty that surrounds it. To me, that is the perfect place (amazing fresh seafood & gorgeous surroundings).

Update: Wisdom teeth were a pain... Still are! & they've been out for a whole week & I still have to take pain meds. Can Not wait to be done with this & never have to go through this again. Also, cant wait for my husband to get his out... So then I can call him chipmunk. Yes, for the past week my nickname around our house is chipmunk. Normally that would be cute... not so cute when you actually look like one. I was beginning to forget what my actual face looked like. Ha ha.

We Joined the Army.

Man, I have been MIA on here lately right? Well I come back with big news... & no I'm not preggers like everyone and their mom guess. My husband joined the Amry. This has been something he has thought about doing for years. Every time he would begin to think about it I would talk him out of it. We went around and around about it for the last four years. Then finally, about a month ago he text me and told me it's something that he just can't stop thinking about it. So, a week later, he joined. Now, I am an Amry wife. He leaves Tulsa September 8th, which is actually a long time away. I will be without my husband then for two and a half months. Then 18 weeks after that. It is up in the air on if I want to go with him for the 18 weeks, however, I will only get to see him on weekends. Is that worth leaving my job and family? That is the question that will haunt me for the next six months.

More big news. And, again, no I am not pregnant. However, I am going to be an aunt in July! Which, of course, raises the question to everyone... When are you & Matt going to have a baby? and the answer is... drum roll please. Hopefully not until the Army thing is over. So approx. 4 years everyone. I am most definitely not being an  Army wife and a stay at home, pretty much single parent. I want Matt to be involved in our childrens life not in and out for it.
Anyways, no other big news for now except these stupid wisdom teeth that will be removed from my mouth next week. Wish me luck!

The House Hunt.

& let the house hunting begin. Well we have actually been looking for about a week now. Today we are meeting with our realtor to see some more possibilities. One of the biggest problems I have is the fact that I am not patient. With this house I have been narrowing down the location we want to live which is horrible because now I'm stuck in a location that there might not be a house in our price range for awhile. We have decided, though, that we could in fact see ourselves in a fixer upper and possible make a buck or two. Today, we are looking at a BIG time fixer upper. We actually think someone could have died or something in this house because there are vines growing up the trees and the house and the bushes in the back are extremely over grown. But I guess we'll see! The good this about my husband & I is we can see potential in things. Even though, I'm not sure if he is a handy man and we would probably be doing majority of the work ourselves, we know how to Google! So wish us luck! The people I've talked to so far it has taken them about 3-5 months to find a house. I'm hoping for a month. ;)

A House to Make Our Own.

This year all I really want is a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooo sick of apartments. The thing I'm really most excited for is house hunting. Of course, I tend to look at house 24/7 now but actually looking at them in person is what I want. As any women (& possibly some men) I have a growing list of the things I want/need in our house. Things that over the years I've learned we need & other things that I've actually learned we can live without in our house.

Our musts:
A fireplace
At least 3 bedrooms
An island in the kitchen
An open concept to the layout
A garage
Large master closet

Things we can live without:
A formal dinning room
Two floors

So maybe the musts are more than the can live withouts but hey doesn't every first time buyers have that problem. Ha ha. Lets just cross our fingers...
